Thomas Stanley

I was a classroom teacher for 41 years and taught at the secondary and collegiate levels in Michigan, Wisconsin, Colorado and Nevada. I had the wonderful opportunity to instrumental in helping build Clark County School Districts Virtual High School and worked extensively in the blended learning classroom. Tom developed and taught an online project-based learning class for the online world and was instrumental in conducting professional development on using technology and project-based learning in the social studies classroom for the Clark County Nevada school district. He has also been involved in the International Association for K-12 Online Learning (INACOL), helped organize the Nevada Online Consortium, and has spoken at a number of professional conferences. Tom consulted on the Baltimore City STEM project for K-5 students that integrated science, technology, engineering and math in a project based learning curriculum. His specialty is the organization and direction PBL activities that have connected local, state, national, and international groups of students such as; the Global Ocean Acidification project, European Union project, Yucca Mountain project, Save Walker Lake project, Dafur Refugee project, and Non-documented Immigration project.
