I started teaching in 1990 as a social studies teacher in Napa Valley. In 1997, I was very lucky to be recruited to be part of the early team that started New Technology High School. I immediately saw the benefits of working in an environment that allowed for block scheduling, team teaching, and, of course, a technology rich classroom. This context allowed me to experiment with project-based based learning which altered my approach to teacher forever. I now work for the New Tech Network which helps other schools adopt the highly successful practices the grew from those early years at New Tech High. We have over 160 schools in our network and I feel like we are just getting started!
