I teach because I love to teach and every day in the classroom with my students is both a challenge and a joy. No day is ever the same and for that I am grateful.
I work in the Carrollton-Farmers Branch School District near the Dallas area. I am part of the Math, Engineering, Technology, Science Academy that is housed inside R.L Turner High School. METSA is a STEM academy and part of NewTech Network that works to implement in public schools a small school culture where students' primary mode of instruction is project-based learning. I've been teaching through PBL for the past two years and going into the third year I feel there is still much to learn but I am convinced that PBL is a step into 21st century education.
