Kristen Franklin

I'm pleased to support you - in all that you do for all learners - in my role as Managing Editor here at Edutopia. Prior to joining the stellar team at Edutopia, I worked with nonprofits to expand their reach and capacity through new media, and was an art educator and informal learning specialist at a "left-coast Ivy" for over a decade. I believe that through the power of education, we can change lives for the better.

When I'm not at my desk, I'm a big reader; I have new love for speculative fiction, old love for musical theater, the slow food movement, and art of all kinds. I grew up in a small town on the west side of the Bay Area, and now live in a smaller town on the east side of the Bay Area. I like being Big City Adjacent.
