A few things I've learned over the years, in no particular order:
1. Smile at your students every single morning as soon as they walk through your door.
2. Morning Meetings are a necessity.
3. If your student draws you a picture or writes you a note, read it. Tape it on the wall. It matters.
4. Be confident enough to say what you don't know.
5. Learn everything.
6. Hold on to your ideas lightly.
7. Embrace change.
