I am a teacher from Poland. I teach Polish as a foreign language and English.
I also conduct lectures in English on Polish History and Culture for students from all over the world
Today I am discovering how to teach using new technologies, and I am waiting for some divine guidance.
Now I want to improve my teaching/learning skills.
For me, to be an active learner means searching for updated information about different ways of understanding problems. I have been taking many online courses to improve my skills and teaching methods.
As for students, I talk them into active studying as well as being in charge of their own learning.
As a lifelong learner, I agree with Abraham Lincoln's declaration "I do not think much of a man who is not wiser today than he was yesterday."
I take advantage of new technologies. Using blended learning, flipping classroom, learning by teaching or encouraging change from passive to fully active learners are significant implements in my teaching/ learning.
My application is to involve students in all kinds of activities. Connecting and exchanging information should be done consciously; students need to be aware of the problems they face.
I find Virtual Classes tremendously exciting and challenging, they make attendees feel like having a real meeting and discussion. Visual and audio tools that you can share with attendees are particularly significant.
Moreover, an opportunity to communicate online with people from around the world is an overwhelming experience as well as an incredible vision to connect for teaching and learning. A chance to meet people from the entire Globe is one of the reasons I appreciate online communication, very much.
