Bonnie Yelverton

This is only my second year teaching full time for a full year after getting my credential in 2011, when jobs were scarce. Evidently once you're not fully employed you're not as eligible any more. This is frustrating, because I love teaching my favorite subjects of physics and chemistry. I've taken workshops and courses in Modeling for both subjects and POGIL for chemistry and biology, both of which I find work well with students. So I'm still looking for next year.
Through EnCorps Teachers I got inspired to become a secondary math teacher instead of retiring (after career that included teaching HS English & German in Denmark, running a diaper service, environmental management and technical writing, among other things.) Completed credential and MA in secondary math and science teaching at Claremont Graduate University in southern California.
