In reflecting over my past 26 years spent as an educational leader, "Connectedness" rises to the top of my sense of accomplishment. Before my journey as a principal, I worked district-wide to bridge between families, schools and communities. As a principal for the past 16 years, I have continued to strengthen a relationship approach built on reciprocity and respect. A learning community engages staff as professionals and empowers families with students at the center of all learning processes. I believe the key to student achievement success is to cultivate culturally enriched environments, share leadership, create data literacy, integrate the arts and engage all stakeholders in learning.
