As I worked toward my degree in Business Administration at Averett University last year (2010), it became apparent that I wanted to use my business skills in the area of education. In this way, I could directly interact and serve the youth of our great country as a classroom teacher. Because our youth represent the future of America, their success is of ultimate importance to me. I am a positive and a highly effective role model having worked with youth both at church and coaching sports. Parents have commended me on my patience, high standards, and good communication skills while working with their children. As a classroom teacher, I am committed to providing a classroom atmosphere which involves learning, group and individual guidance, personal attention, and enthusiasm which will allow students to reach their highest potential both academically and socially. Lastly, teaching is an extremely rewarding profession , I feel it will give me a chance to help students grow as effective learners. I am not pursuing this profession for the love of money or fame, I have selected this profession to make a huge difference in the lives of my future students. Also, I firmly believe as a public classroom teacher, I can model the characteristics of Christ to my students on a daily basis. I can also strategically place these characteristics of Jesus Christ by integrating morals, loyalty, honesty, kindness, loving, etc. into my daily lesson plans and class interaction.
