Jon Beard

Jon has provided instructional technology services in education for the past 20 years and corporate consulting for IT for the past 35 years. He is CEO of Knowledge Network Solutions with client companies including - HP, Fujitsu, Gateway, IBM, Microsoft, Adobe, Intel, and Hitachi. Jon routinely presents at national forums for technology on assessment and planning in education highlighting the use of new Web 2.0 technologies, virtual application sharing, wireless technologies and learning management systems. KNS is the National Professional Development Education Partner for Adobe and Microsoft.

Jon is also CEO for Internet Community Action Network, Inc., a company devoted to the development of educational learning communities using emerging technologies to create highly engaging and interactive student experiences with industry e-mentors and other subject experts.

His technology experience includes assessment and planning for instructional technology (curriculum, support, infrastructure, professional development, marketing and and funding) in the US, Central America and Puerto Rico. He owned and managed an IT training company in the North Carolina Research Triangle Park, Computer Decisions, for 13 years prior to selling it to Knowledge Universe where he assisted in the start up of Teacher Universe, an online education professional development company.

Prior to that, Jon worked with Loews Corporation, a Fortune 100 company, and subsidiaries for eight years in NC, KY and NYC in various senior IT and consulting positions before becoming a Senior Associate for Management Advisory Services for Loews Corporate.

Jon received a Business degree from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1973.
