Colette M Bennett

I have 20 years of experience teaching in parochial and public school systems from grades 6-12. I came to Wamogo High School in September 2008 from the Brookfield School System where I taught English, Drama, and Journalism in grades 9-12. I served as the Drama Club coordinator and produced and directed seven musicals and nine dramas for the high school drama club, and I served as the Journalism teacher producing the school newspaper.
I am a member of the Regional School District #6 Technology Team. I have presented how our school district integrates technology to improve student learning the at CECA Conference in CT (2009), The NCTE Conference in Orlando (2010), and the Advanced Placement Conference in San Francisco (2011) I am currently a member of the University of Connecticut Early College Experience Advisory Board for Freshman English preparing model lessons and academic strategies for English teachers around the state.
I am a graduate of the CT Alternate Route to Certification. I also have a Masters in English from Western Connecticut State University, 30 graduate credits from Wesleyan University's GLSP program in Social Studies, and a 6th year in Advanced Teaching and an 092 Administrative Certificate from Sacred Heart University.
