I started as a 7th grade English teacher at a middle school in North Carolina in 2007, just a month after graduating college. My first year as a professional teacher was the most challenging year of my life and after that first year of school ended, I thought I might be in the wrong profession. I quit, moved back to my home state and enrolled in graduate school. While I was in grad school, I kept coming back to the desire to teach and thinking of all the things I would have done differently if I had stayed another year. I graduated with my M.Ed. in August 2010 and have been searching for an English teaching position. This time, I am determined to seek out the professional and personal support and professional development that I felt I was lacking in my first endeavor in the teaching field. I am determined to be successful this time and make a career out of being a great teacher!
