I am currently an iPad/Ed Tech Consultant and an online adjunct instructor with Ashford University. I spent 24 years in elementary education. I was a classroom teacher for K-6 (14 years), then later taught computer science and doubled as the Site Educational Technologist (10 years). During that time, I had the opportunity to facilitate teacher and administrator technology staff developments, initiated and chaired the Campus iPad Pilot, and served as the NASA Explorer School Team Leader and Teacher. The NASA Explorer School Program was probably the most exciting time of my teaching career. I was instrumental in bringing the school site up to speed with technology and STEM magnet grant. I was also able to take three elementary student teams to Kennedy and Johnson NASA Space Centers to present their scientific investigations at the annual NASA Explorer School Student Symposiums. This was a fabulous and once in a lifetime experience for the students as well as myself.
I am currently support teachers as iPad/Ed Tech Consultant. I present workshops online or onsite. I support small groups or individual teachers as they work toward developing their 21st century teaching skills for better technology integration. Occasionally I present webinars for the online education community Simple K12.com in the areas of iPad curriculum planning and integration and future webinars in the areas of STEM education. I am also an online adjunct instructor with Ashford University teaching courses in Educational Technology and Early Childhood Education.
