Cindy Marie Jenkins

Cindy joined Social | Impact Consulting, LLC as director of social media storytelling and online outreach in August 2011. In this capacity, Cindy works with nonprofits and community organizations to strengthen their online capacity and engage target audiences. After graduating from NYU, Cindy pursued her passion for the arts for social good by driving to Los Angeles, where she quickly learned to add avocadoes to everything. She's worked as a teaching artist, running arts education and professional development programs at LAUSD. Cindy became obsessed with outreach while working in the Wild West of LA Theatre and the city of Los Angeles Department of Neighborhood Empowerment's (DONE) neighborhood councils. Cindy volunteers as Community Consultant for a new school celebrating arts integration, is Outreach Chair for the Atwater Village Neighborhood Council and wrote an Awareness project that raises money for the children of Chernobyl through interactive theatre. Cindy regularly contributes to publications such as ArtJob (Arts For LA), LA Stage Times, Atwater Village Now, The Inspired Classroom, and LAFPI. She's presented her workshop, "Self-Promoting Without Annoying Your Friends," at various community and professional development seminars. Clients include entrepreneurs, nonprofit schools for special needs, and brand new, as well as established arts organizations.ce 2008, Co-teacher of Connect the Arts, a Social Media & Marketing Conference in Hollywood, Academy Teaching Associate and Artistic Associate for The Antaeus Company in North Hollywood, where she expanded both the Antaeus Academy for young classical actors and ShakesAlive! the Arts Education Outreach programs; Director of Education for Enrichment Works (teaching writing & theater workshops for young people as well as Professional Development sessions for LAUSD Teachers, writing study guides according to VAPA (Visual and Performing Arts Standards); Mentor/Director for Virginia Avenue Project, Program Director & Writing/Theater Instructor for Safe Moves: DUI Prevention Theater Program and CTG's Speak To Me Program; Tutor of English and Social Studies; Co-Creator & Director of Bedford Drama Camp and Self-Scripting Workshop; Teaching Assistant with America Reads in New York City, 1998-2000.

Previous community art installations/interactions have been shown at Summer Nights on the Boulevard, The Barnsdall Gallery, The Courtyard Gallery, the Silver Lake Jubilee and the Children's Festival of the Arts in Hollywood.
