I began as my work to try helping improve the world as teenager involved in the 1960's involved in civil rights marches. Since then I've been an inner city public school teacher, administrator, project coordinator for the National Governors Association, author, newspaper columnist, research, PTA president, husband, father and learner. I have helped start a number of alternative schools and helped write charter public school legislation in Minnesota and several other states. I use project based approaches in my k-12 and higher education teaching.
