WHAT WORKS IN EDUCATION The George Lucas Educational Foundation

Jordan Bentley

I am currently a student at the University of California, Santa Cruz, receiving a double major in History and Applied Physics. I have always been pasionate about effective education, but since the advent of widespread technology have been especially interested in e-Learning.

I have worked on a digital humanities project throught the UCSC history department called ROUTES that uses multi-media platforms to tell international and interconnected stories using multiple memoirs and different digitized media.

I now intern for a software company that specializes in educational applications for tablets and phones. I am very excited about the opportunities that tablets provide grade-school and above education with a positive, productive use of our time spent using multi-media.

I am working on a free iPad and iPhone app called "Sock Puppets" that aids children in learning animation as well as storytelling and language skills.
