I've been teaching fourth grade for the last 6 years and will now teach enrichment and technology for the Telluride Intermediate School, grades 4-6.  Telluride is a a ski town by winter and a summer festival destination by summer with about 700 students in grades K-12. My school has embraced project based learning by developing planning
tools and support for teachers to update their curriculum to include experiential, hands-on, artistic, and technology-based projects in
which students investigate essential questions and present their
findings and learning. I'm interested in learning how to improve the
relevancy and global connections my students make as they research and
become inspired problem-solvers. I attended the University of California, Davis for my undergraduate education and then I completed a Masters in Education with endorsements in K-12 special education and K-6
elementary education at Regis University. In 2008 I earned National Board Certification as a middle
childhood generalist, ages 9-12. I have lived in Telluride since 1992, with the exception of a 2 year stint in the Peace Corps from 1995-1997 in Niger, West Africa doing child and maternal health education.
