I believe that the internationalization of cirriculum starts from the bottom-up; through web-based tools and videoconferencing, I create the global learning classroom that engages the work of non-Western scholars, recognizes the trans-national nature of human social phenomena, and critiques transformations of those phenomena by globalization. Global learning also empowers students to actively manipulate technology to their own ends, rather than being herded in a 'user-friendly' (i.e. dumbed-down consumer) environment. This is the forefront of critical thinking in higher education today.
