Marc C. Whitt

For nearly 30 years, Marc Whitt has led a distinguished career in higher education public relations and marketing, and has long been an active advocate for the performing arts and economic development. Marc serves as Associate Vice President for Public Relations at Eastern Kentucky University and is an Adjunct Instructor in the Department of Communication where he teaches PR. He is a member of the American Association of State Colleges & Universities Advisory Council on Communications and Public Affairs, the International Town and Gown Association Board of Directors, EKU Center for the Arts Community Operations Board, Richmond Chamber of Commerce, Bluegrass Tomorrow and Commerce Lexington.

In recognition of his service to promote music education in the Madison County (KY) Schools District, Marc received the "2010 Kentucky Music Educators Association District 11 Friends of Music Award."

Marc, a member of Phi Kappa Phi, was among 310 EKU instructors nominated by one or more of his students for the 2012 Critical Thinking Teacher of the Year Award.
