Tip # 14: Support an Educator on Twitter

Are you on Twitter? Why not follow some teachers on Twitter and listen to what they have to say? Chances are, you’ll be impressed with their dedication to education, and you may just find what they share and talk about useful. Not sure where to find teachers on Twitter? You can start by following Edutopia bloggers here.

Also, many educator-led twitter chats are great places to listen to, support, and connect with teachers. Check out this blog, which has links to many of the chats. Bonus points for those that decide to thank teachers by using the #ThankaTeacher hashtag or giving them a #FollowFriday shout-out.

Not sure what all the fuss is about Twitter? Read "A Parent's Guide to Twitter and Education" by Edutopia blogger Joe Mazza for a basic overview of how Twitter can be a great tool for anyone interested in education.

"Every Day in May"

Every day in May we'll be offering up a new way to appreciate teachers.
