After reading a chapter about hope, in a book titled "What Keeps Teachers Going?” by Sonia Nieto, I realized that the expectation that your students will have a successful future will keep you "going" in your teaching career. Being a resource room special education teacher I realize knowing how to graph a linear equation might not help a student but creating a positive relationship with that student can mean a lot more. Be positive as much as possible and remember who your students are and where they come from. I am a title one school, with high risk students who might need more love and caring then other schools. Every teacher needs to have love and caring; I just think my students might need more.
