I've got a science tool for you that I've been working on with a friend of mine who's a Bio teacher out in Venice, CA. It's called BirdBrain Science... sort of like an online science textbook written at multiple reading levels.
So, a teacher can assign an article to their class; and each student will be able to access the same article as the rest of their peers, but at their own specific reading level. There are quizzes after each assignment that determine the reading level of the next assignments. That means they can move up or down reading levels depending on how they do on the quizzes. There's even optional Common Core aligned questions to go with each quiz. Fluid, continual assessment to keep students challenged without feeling overwhelmed.
And, there's also some pretty cool/fun art!
We're a really, really small, brand new startup so any thoughts that you guys have on this would really help us out. Thanks!
Oh, and the website is www.birdbrainscience.com!
