Hi dear all,

I'm so interested in the topic of smart schools and wrote this 1 page summary about it and would like to share it with you.

What are "Smart Schools"?

Smart schools are the schools which depend totally on technology as the mean of making learning happen. They are based on the premise that learning involves spectrum of thinking, deep understanding and use of technology which all can be learn able by all students. They depend on electronic curriculum and intelligent assessments to check the progress of their learners. They get their students the chance to have developed teaching aids and professional teachers to teach them from all over the world.

How does it work?
In such smart schools: any type of information can be accessed by the students using the available resources in school such as the electronic library or the external resources in the internet. The teacher is presented as a supervisor or a navigator to guide students, so learning is substantially interactive, student-based and achievable by all students. The parents’ communication with school is online and they can get an access to communicate with the principal or teachers to follow the progress of their children.
Why "Smart Schools"?
The smart schools can enhance the percentage of professional teachers who teach the students who are the asset of any society especially with the accelerating progress that happen all over the world. Those teachers can teach the students from any spot of the world using the virtual classroom.

What is a Virtual Class Room?

It is the simulation of a real classroom virtually by presenting the lecture to students located in different spots of the world using high quality audio and video technology.

What are the benefits of "Smart Schools"?

Smart schools serve as a facilitator for high quality learning. Students can get private lessons abiding to international standards from anywhere. Students with physical problems can learn remotely so the society is making the learning available to all people. Students can learn at the pace that is suitable for their potentials. Students can store and retrieve any lesson at any time. Students –who didn’t attend a lesson for any reason- can get the lesson plans in a C.D. Students only need to have a computer to get an exposure to the knowledge and therefore acquire a high self-esteem from being at their homes only.
