The first time I took an online course was two years ago when I was working towards my A.A. in Elementary Teaching at Lonestar College. I LOVE IT! because I worked full time and went to school full time yet I was able to work on my online class whenever I had time and was able to do it from the convinience of my home and in my pajamas if I so desired. I am currently on maternity leave from my job because I just had a baby two weeks ago yet I am able to take courses online. People that take online classes have to know how to manage their time and also be an independent learner. They have to do a lot of thing on their own because they don't have an instructor in front of them like if they were going into a traditional classroom. I believe having online learning is a great tool because it eliminates a lot of the excuses people have about not continuing their education. The advances we've had with technology has greatly influenced the way people choose to learn.
