Hey Folks! So I'm a teacher who got frustrated with the lack of applications and software that could assist me in engaging students with media literacy and text and media mashups. So what does a weary teacher without resources do in America? Start a company! newquill is a creative suite for the iPod touch, iPhone, and iPad that allows users to transfer and mix media and text into a canvas space and then publish their creations out as .ePubs to share with the world. Specific applications include media rich lesson planning for teachers, audio and video story-telling for students, and metacognition and media literacy for any user. We're launching the beta next week and I'd love to get the product to any educators with iPads - that's what we're launching on. Here is our website and blog - very stepped in media literacy stuff: I'd love to hear what you all are using to teach media literacy, what you would like to see, and who is interested in beta testing! We're also holding weekly teacher technology events in the New York City area if anyone is interested! Keep up the good work! The fight is worth the war!
