As I read through some older discussions, the theme of getting students and families engaged in greening the school or living more sustainably comes up again and again. Cool the Earth is a non-profit organization that offers a FREE program to K-8 schools the educates students about climate change and inspires them and their families to take ACTION. The program takes place outside of classroom time except for the launch assembly and is run by a parent or teacher volunteer. It's fun, easy to run and very rewarding. Go to to learn more and enroll your school to run this great program this winter/spring.

Thanks for sharing this resource, Tracey. What a great way to encourage parents to get involved in an educational project. I love the idea of the coupons with easy water, energy, and carbon-saving tips.
