In the past, conversations about technology use often were "K-12" and did not include preschool. This is shifting, as multi-touch devices are increasingly being used by very young children. Please do check out the announcement below, and share to benefit young children in your communities... ****************************************************************************** The NAEYC Technology and Young Children Interest Forum would like to support and promote the recent joint position statement from NAEYC and the Fred Rogers Center, Technology and Interactive Media as Tools in Early Childhood Programs Serving Children from Birth through Age 8. This document provides important guidance for early childhood educators, and is accompanied by companion resources; Examples of effective practice, a Key Messages handout, Pre-recorded Webcast, and Selected Resources that offer valuable new information for the field. The position statement and resources can be found at We invite you to review all of the materials carefully, and consider how you may use these research-informed recommendations in your own work, to inspire thoughtful discussion and intentional use of technology in ways that will benefit young children, and support their healthy growth and development. PLEASE FORWARD this message to your early education communities and networks, both online and locally. -NAEYC Technology & Young Children Interest Forum
