Frequently Asked Questions

What can I expect from this workshop?

Design Thinking is a creative process. You will be working alone and in groups to learn the process of design thinking. Each Sunday, we will post a new set of design projects and you will receive an email that directs you to that week's activity. The first email will go out on Sunday, July 29.

The workshop materials will all be posted online. You will be able to do the project at any time during the week. If you are planning on being out of town, that's no problem. You can come back at any time and work on the projects. There will be no lectures or webinars or other time-specific requirements.

What if I have a question? Will there be someone to help me?

A team of educators who are experienced in design thinking will be working through the projects as well. You can always ask them questions. Furthermore, these educators -- as well as designers from IDEO will be available during some office hours for live chat. These hours will be posted to this site when the workshop begins.

Is there any credit available for this?

Alas, no.

How many hours do you expect it to take?

We designed the workshop to take anywhere from 5-20 hours a week, depending on how much time you want to put in to it.

Is there any pre-reading I can do?

Yes. Please visit the Design Thinking for Educators site and download the Design Thinking for Educators Toolkit. That will be our main resource for the five weeks.

See you at the workshop!
