I've always said, "I'll leave when the website is done, or the educational system is fixed," which made my colleagues giggle. Anyone who's ever worked on a big website like knows there's always something to do, just as anyone who's ever worked on education reform thinks Sisyphus is a big baby who should stop whining and get back to work. Over the years, GLEF has published projects in every conceivable medium, but there is one factor that never changed, the thread that binds all of our efforts, the not-so-secret sauce that makes all of our work meaningful.

It's you! The teachers, administrators, parents, anyone who has ever stayed a little later and worked for less because the job needed doing. I've been working on projects for GLEF since 1995, and I've learned more here than anywhere else I've ever worked. One of the first and biggest lessons I've learned is that we at GLEF stand on the shoulders of giants, and none of our work would even be possible without you.

Thank you for all that you do. You are an inspiration to us all.

Thank you to all the wonderful and talented writers, editors, developers, artists, interns, consultants, and all the people who have contributed to Edutopia. I hope they share the same sense of satisfaction I'm feeling today. Thank you George Lucas for having the vision and determination to tackle the big problems with imagination and flair. You have impacted my life in the most positive way, for which I will be forever grateful. I also loved that movie you did..... ;-)

I'll see you folks down river.

Geoff has been a constant and dedicated and beloved and AWESOME part of the Edutopia family and we are surely going to miss him. Our team regularly *channels* Geoff (What would Geoff do?) whenever we need to gut-check our decisions so we stay the course and do the right thing for our audience. He is completely sincere when he heaps accolades onto teachers, and it's probably because he is himself a teacher at heart and truly respects the craft of passing along knowledge. I've learned so much from him... and the people who get to work with him next are certainly going to know how lucky they are.

Geoff has been our resident sage. He is a fountain of info of all things technical, (not to mention cultural) and possesses an amazing inner calm in the face of a storm. Unlike so many technical people who dismiss any questions with a blanket "It's technical" response, Geoff thrives on sharing his wisdom, helping others understand the hows and whys.

We'll miss you, friend!

I am fortunate beyond words to be able to call Geoff my mentor. I greatly appreciate the values he has instilled in me. Thank you, Geoff, for being such a wonderful teacher, always thinking long term, and keeping things on track.

I feel incredibly lucky to have had Geoff as a friend and mentor here at GLEF for more than six years. He always made time for a technical newbie; and with his patient encouragement, I've connected much more deeply with our web team and gained an understanding of how it all works behind the scenes.

I'm grateful for his sense of humor, his kindness, and his passion for his work.

I will miss working with him tremendously!

The trees out in front of the building are exploding with gorgeous flowers. Just reminded me of Geoff. Hope you're doing well!
