I taught for ten years at an experiential based alternative program for at-risk youth, many of whom were juvenile offenders. For the past eight years, I have been teaching in a public middle school in the foothills region of North Carolina.

Areas of interest: I am interested in project based learning, experiential learning, improving the performance and experience of students who are behind grade level, educating gifted and learning disabled students, writing skills, poetry, literature, critical thinking, creative problem solving.
