I love Edutopia! I believe it is aptly named, as there is just the right mix of information, ideas and inspiration to be found here. I love sharing the articles and resources with my colleagues and workshop attendees - so many valuable strategies!!
Although I began my career in education a little later than most, I have jumped into the profession with my arms, eyes and mind wide open. Ghandi said “You must be the change you wish to see in the world”. While I could never aspire to likeness of Ghandi, I do pride myself on my efforts to influence positive change around me. I have been a third grade teacher since 2005, and consider myself fortunate to have found a career where I truly belong.
My uniqueness as a teacher lies in that which inspires me: computers, connections and community service. I am a licensed Instructional Technology Specialist who has been a Girl Scout for 34 years, and I strive incessantly to make strong, positive connections with my students, their families and my colleagues. It is through these relationships that I have learned to share my enthusiasm for all things technical. In the past few years, I have been asked to present at workshops, conferences, consortiums and symposiums.
When I am not teaching, or trying to keep up with the latest in technology, I am an avid photographer, willing volunteer, aspiring runner and creative thinker. I am married with two children and we love living on Cape Cod.
