I was born in Ottawa Ontario Canada and moved to New Cumberland PA in the mid 60's attending West Shore Schools. After graduating from Cedar Cliff High School I attended Mansfield University with a double major in voice and piano and graduated with a music teaching degree. I returned to West Shore School District and have taught general music for almost 35 years. I took time off to run my own music studio for five years, teaching private lessons on piano, voice, and guitar, where I met my future husband.
I directed his band and helped with the production of his show, "Ronnie Allyn's Tribute to Elvis" which toured many countries and different venues and wonderful audiences every where. This prepared me for high school choral teaching--- I loved working on musicals, preparing choruses for concerts, working with students to prepare for district, regional and state competitions.
After a number of years teaching high school I moved to middle school general music. General Music middle school students are definitely the most fun--- the wildest, craziest and most creative students anyone could teach! I love the age and what they are willing to learn.
Outside school music teaching, I still enjoy singing with my husband's vocal backup group, and helping him with his antique collector cars. Ron gave me my own car a 1965 Dodge Dart GT which I enjoy taking to car shows. I actually enjoy helping him work on the old cars! And of course I love to play the piano, sing and read, read, read!
