As part of my ongoing mission to educate and inspire students with special needs, I recently opened Step Ahead Educational Services for students with mild to moderate learning disabilities and Autism Spectrum Disorders in Carlsbad, California.
With expertise and credentials in both general and special education, I recognize the importance of incorporating a variety of creative teaching styles and strategies into my instruction in order to meet the unique needs and challenges of each individual student. I use innovative and multi-sensory based techniques, along with specialized movements, yoga and exercise to promote learning throughout the day.
Inspired by my love for exercise and teaching students with special needs, I completed a Masters of Science in special education, which focused on exercise and academics. I strongly believe in promoting a healthy lifestyle through exercise and feel that incorporating it into a positive learning environment will aid in the success of all students. I am currently working closely with a yoga therapist who will be offering private sessions for students and families at Step Ahead Educational Services.
