Very active in the Education Association, I am the "bridge builder" for the union. I attend the School Board meetings and create relationships between various organizations in town and the teachers. I very much enjoy working with the parents to help the children face the challenges of their middle school years. Together, we have established a program called "Evenings Out," where our classes attend movie premiers, dances, museum exhibits, etc., to develop our social skills--usually after school hours. Also, we are currently creating a career fair so that the students can learn more about what is available in the "real world," and how they need to prepare to enter it.
