I consider myself a lifelong learner and have always enjoyed opportunities with new challenges. While many people my age are preparing to step away from the workplace, I chose to change gears in ways which make the normal person shudder. I attended UW-Madison from 1971-1974 and then dropped out of school “for a year of two.” That timeout turned into 30+ years in the business world where I discovered a renewed passion for learning. In the spring of 2010 I elected to go back to college at UW-Stevens Point as a fulltime student to complete my education in order to fulfill the dream of one day teaching Social Studies in high school. The journey was an exceptional experience, and in May 2012 I completed my certifications in Social Studies, History, and ESL. With diploma in hand I leaped into the teaching profession as a fulltime educator at Beaver Dam High School, a unique community located in Dodge County about 30 minutes northeast of Madison, Wisconsin. This one-of-a-kind experience as a first-year teacher in something that few have ever known, and I am able to provide a qualified real-world perspective for my students. I’m loving it!
