Since 2008, I’ve been a part-time Computer Design/Yearbook teacher to gifted 3rd through 12th grade students at Lee Academy where my daughter attends. I am blessed to teach incredible, creative kids. I teach design using the Adobe family and oversee our high school yearbook.
On the home-front, I run a creative services company. From copy-writing, advertising, web design, graphic design, and web mastering, my company is a one-stop shop for every type of artistic need.
In addition to my teaching and my home-based company, after listening to my students for two years, I decided to do something about kids complaining "there's nothing to do" but the mall and movies.
With my Type A personality, I opened place called Whitzend kidZone with video gaming, computers, air hockey, foosball, a pool table, kid-friendly computers, music and the occasional live teen DJ for teens on Saturday night, younger kids on monthly Fridays. The mission statement of Whitzend reads "to provide a place where kids are encouraged to be themselves and have fun in a safe environment that promotes and inspires creativity in through play, music, performance and socializing, free of bullying and labels." http://www.whitzend.com
