Joanne Yatvin
Retired teacher and administrator
Former public school teacher, principal, district superintendent, who is currently writing books for teachers and teaching part time at Portland State University (OR). I am also the dissenting member of the National Reading Panel (2000) and a past president of the National Council of Teachers of English. In 1985 I was named Wisconsin Elementary Principal of the Year, and in 1988 I was given the Distinguished Alumni Award by the University of Wisconsin School of Education
