Hello everyone, my name is Don and I teach French at Vintage High School in Napa, California, where I live with my wife Connie. We have two sons - Jeremie and Chris. They are my heart's delight! I am also Co-Director of the East Bay WL Project at UC Berkeley's Language Center. I am interested in how to integrate PBL in WL using Web 2.0 tools in culturally relevant contexts with proficiency-based linguistic outcomes.
I have been very privileged to have lived and studied in France for four years, and in Canada and Senegal over the summer a few times. I have also visited South Africa, Namibia, Mozambique and several countries in Europe - I love to travel and meet people.
I hold a BA in French from UC Berkeley, and an MA in French from UC Santa Barbara. I am a National Board Certified Teacher, and hold the CLAD and the CA Single Subject Teaching Credential in both French and History. In addition, I am an Instructional Coach to the staff at Vintage High School. I believe strongly in the importance of collaboration, so I am a member of the AATF, ACTFL, CLTA, ASCD and International Reading Association. I look forward to collaborating with you as well here on the Edutopia WL Forum!
