Dr. Allen Mendler is an educational consultant with THE TEACHER LEARNING CENTER who provides training and staff development in the areas of student motivation and behavior management. He is the author or co-author of numerous books and articles including DISCIPLINE WITH DIGNITY, MOTIVATING STUDENTS WHO DON'T CARE and POWER STRUGGLES. His newest, WHEN TEACHING GETS TOUGH, was released as a member book by ASCD. Dr. Mendler's emphasis is on developing frameworks and strategies for educators and parents that help youth succeed. He is widely regarded as a motivational speaker, has been recognized for his outstanding teaching by the Bureau of Education and Research and received the coveted Crazy Horse Award for his contributions to youth in need.
