A qualified teacher of drama and English, Trevar has taught in a number of schools and continues to support the education community through his work managing the ACT & Region Chamber of Commerce & Industry’s Employment, Education and Training team.
The core business of the Employment, Education and Training team is to improve education and employment outcomes across the ACT. By building partnerships and enhancing collaboration between businesses, schools, training organisations and government, we hope to see more young people attain year twelve or equivalent, and make a successful transition into the workforce, while existing workers have every tool they need to transition between careers and reach their goals.
Trevar Chairs the Partnership Brokers National Network, and represents the ACT on the Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry's Employment, Education and Training Committee. He also represents the Chamber on a number of local boards, committees and reference groups.
When not on the clock, Trevar moonlights as a playwright. His work includes film scripts and novellas and his plays have been produced as mainstage productions and for festivals such as Short+Sweet. He is an avid supporter of the theatre community in Canberra, having written for Australian Stage, the Canberra Times and blogging regularly. Trevar has directed productions for a number of local companies, and occasionally treads the boards himself.
