I taught science and math in two small high schools in rural Nebraska for twenty-eight years. I retired in 2005. My wife is an occupational therapist, contracting with public schools in western Nebraska. We live in a rural, agrarian community of 1200 people. I serve on advisory boards and do volunteer work in the community and the schools. We garden and enjoy nature. I am interested in education issues, and believe that education is the most important investment our society can make.
