What Works in Public Education
B. G. Hennessy
Children's Book Author

I've always loved a good question and to me a good day is when I've leaned something new. How children learn, the questions they ask, and the language they use all are fascinating to me. I have a background in art direction and book design so using visual "clues" to help learning is another area of interest for me. I worked in children's book publishing for almost twetny years as a designer and art director. Since 1989
I've written over 35 children’s books. My books have received several awards including two Parenting Magazine Reading Magic Awards, an IRA/Children's Choice Award Book, a Best Book of the Year by the Bank Street College of Education as well as several ALA Notable book notations. I have written over a dozen lift -the-flap books based on Don Freeman’s beloved Corduroy bear. With nearly four million books in print in ten languages, I continue to write every day.
