SLIDE SHOW: Trailer Bash

Photographed by Noah Webb

How does Betty Lee, an artist on the faculty of the California Institute of the Arts, in Valencia, choose to spend much of her spare time?

Surrounded by middle schoolers in a dilapidated trailer parked in the Watts district of Los Angeles.

This is where she flourishes, and where, at the end of thirty weeks, her students premiere a five-minute animated film.
