Tip #9: Write a Haiku

Unleash your creativity by writing a haiku poem in appreciation of a teacher. A haiku is a Japanese poem composed of three unrhymed lines of five, seven, and five syllables. For examples, see this compilation of haikus from educators about how we can improve education.

Write about the teacher or tell them what you value about education -- The possibilities are endless! For inspiration, check out some of our most popular poetry resources: Grand Slam: Performance Poetry Engages Students (video) and Poetry Can Change a Student's Life (blog).
