You stated: "I am for one that didn't pass my exit level testing and I had to get my GPA and I felt really stupid because I didn't get to graduate with my class because I didn't get the education that I needed so in my best opinion if private school kids don't have the same standards as public then exit level test shouldn't even be aloud!" <--- allowed, not aloud.
You felt really stupid for a reason ... (think about it)
Most private schools have much higher standards so they don't need an exit exam.
Again ... If a person pays attention enough to learn the very basics, they will pass the exit exam. You are not asked to do calculus. You are not asked to read and respond to exceedingly difficult topics.
As a 12th grader a person should know 9th grade skills!

You stated: "I also will forget the anwser and then when i leave the classroom when class is over i then remember the anwser and beat myself over that stupid one question"
By the time you are in the 12th grade, you have taken the exit exam at least 3 times. You have also taken hundreds of tests over the years. Test stress should have been conquered by now. If you can't pass the test as a 12th grader, you are the one who hasn't been paying attention in class. It's 8th and 9th grade math for goodness sake!

I completely agree with you.

HS exit exam measures 8th grade math skills

How can anyone say that a 12th grader should graduate if he or she does not even know 9th grade math!
The exit exam measures 8th and some 9th grade math skills. It measures 10th grade english skills.
The very fist year the exit exam was given, it was given to 9th graders as well. My daughter who was a B to C student at the time, passed the test as a freshman. She was and is not an honor student. She learned what was expected of her.
Isn't that the whole point of an education ...to learn?
Do we give out driver's licenses to people who don't pass the driver's test? No!
Does a person get promoted in a job if they have not acquired the skills to deserve that promotion? No!
Come on now ...

I think the graduation exams and un-just

The graduation exams do not favor students who use the right part of thir brain and therfore those students do not pass the graduation exams and are not allowed to walk. I thought this was america and we all knew that no one is the same, therefore why should we all take the same graduation exam? With out the right-brained individuals we would have no picaso, no bethoveen, and no aristotle.

I am NOT in favor with the state's exit exam.

I personaly think that the state test is bias. We should not have to take the state test because it keeps a lot of students from graduatiing each year and if some students can not pass the test then they can not graduate. I feel you do all that work and for some students it is a waste of time because you keep all your grades up and try your best but when you take the test and you fail it then you do not graduate. WOW, that is crazy all together some students that make honor roll can not even pass the test nor some adults either.

this comment really pisses me off. do you really think i sit back and say oh cause of our global society. do you think i or alot of other students and parents really care of this due to the fact that not all children and adults comply with oh global society. why would i care about what some other countries education levels are. i only want my diploma thats all i have worked hard for a very long time. do you know what it is like to go to every class practice test and be a strait a student and not be able to pass the test. we talk about the future all the time. what cause i have dissabilities i don't have the same rights. i think if a person does everything human possible to pass a test and takes 5 times someone should give me a break. instead of making things better for students we have made them more stressful for kids and adults. why so we can live up to some other countries standards. i live here in america i care about my kids education and my own what does it say to your kids who are about to be high school and can't pass that test if as an adult you can't pass that test. well i am not comfortable with that at all. what is the since in going back to school and working your tail off then to be told sorry you are not allowed to have a future cause you are just not smart enough. what is it teaching out kids. that hey if you can't pass this test then you should not have the same rights as a person who can i can that discrimination against our kids we and they have a constitute right to get an education. teachers seem to think they have the answers but i have a right to be just as succesful. i have plans to become a couselor for troubled teens. how can i do that if i don't get my DIPLOMA AGAIN I AM I an straight student what is the point. if all the work i do means nothing if i don't pass the tests no matter how much studing done it is not right. further more i went to high school passed my math but hey you live another state so oops sorry that test don't count even though it is an exit exam that you passed tell me how that is fair i believe that what is the point of going to school if i can't pass the test due to a dissability. it is not fair that i have to pass a test to define how smart i am. i am very intellegent in my opinion, i don't belive a test should define wether i get to have a future or not. how can i provide a good future for my children, if i have something like this keeping me from a diploma so maybe the next time you think of global societies maybe you should consider if it was your child and you being a teacher finds out that your child has a dissability that will keep them from graduating due to a dissability like touretts, that is what my son has and struggles on a daily basis. maybe the state should start considering the facts that we as a society have more disabled children lately and by deniying everyone a diploma who can't pass a test due to dissabilities should be against the law because the state is discriminating against us and them. so tell me as a teacher what are you going to do for me or my son. cast us aside that is against my constituional right due to other countries are smarter than americans. for so many intellegent people we have at the same time are very stupid like the comments you just made i guess you think cause you graduated with honors or what ever does not give you any one else the right to keep me from my future due to your opinion on global society.

Adults taking exit exam

I feel that adults going back to school to better them selfs should not have to take the exit exam. Such as my self i am a mother of 4 i finished school to prove to my self and my kids that i can do good but the only thing that is holding me back from getting my diploma is the exit exam and i dont have time to take it when they offer it to the adults because i have no time and money for babysitters for my kids. I dont think its fair to us as adults who are trying to get our lifes set or on track again because of this test. I really think they should remove the exit exam if not for the high schools but for the adults we should'nt have to feel like its a set back for us in our lifes in my opinon i would feel so much better about my self knowing i completed my goal in life looking at that piece of paper called a diploma.
