Due to the continuing threat of school violence, more and more schools are installing video surveillance systems on school grounds -- and in classrooms. Supporters argue that having cameras in place will deter deadly violence as well as theft, vandalism, and misbehavior. Opponents, however, contend that having a network of security cameras invades student and staff privacy, negatively affects the relationship between students and teachers, and may not even prevent crime.
