Sales Marketing Associate

The George Lucas Educational Foundation seeks a sales marketing associate, responsible for overseeing sales marketing initiatives for the Foundation and providing administrative support. This is a full-time, benefited position that reports to the senior director of advertising sales and strategic alliances. The job location is near San Rafael.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the sales team to identify and develop client opportunities with an emphasis on Internet exposure, and produce sales materials with clear and compelling messaging.
  • Produce, maintain, and deliver sales marketing materials including e-blasts, online flyers, print and online media kits, and ad-effectiveness research studies, ensuring that the content is current and fresh.
  • Partner with other departments to maintain up-to-date information for all sales marketing initiatives.
  • Evaluate education-industry providers and trade shows for related advertisers and monitor Edutopia’s presence for brand consistency and overall effectiveness.
  • Track online ads on competitive Web sites and trade journals and provide reports to the sales team.
  • Implement and maintain a consistent corporate image as detailed in the Edutopia Brand User Guide throughout all product lines, promotional materials, events, presentations, and proposals.
  • Support and participate in promotional special events.
  • Perform other duties as requested.

Experience, Skills, and Education:

  • Two to three years of direct experience in a sales marketing environment.
  • Experience in education marketing preferred.
  • Must be tech savvy and proficient with the entire Microsoft Office suite and using the Internet; InDesign and Salesforce.com experience a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Diligent follow-up and ability to focus on details.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, fluid environment.
  • Must be a highly motivated self-starter with a high degree of energy, integrity, and creativity.
  • Must be able to work well with others, handling requests from multiple people with deadlines.
  • Problem solver with exceptional customer-service, organizational, and multitasking skills.
  • A strong personal or professional interest in bettering public education.
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.
