i hate school, i love basketball
Im a freshman in High School and i do think we get to much home work. I dont Do My Home work because its pointless. The school system is basing to much of our grade on our homework. I Understand every concept that is taught, so why should I have to Do the same thing again about 20 times when I get home? Its pointless. Then Teachers are Basing To Much of Our Grade On Our Homework. Last Year, I passed my math class with an A, for the slight fact that my math teacher did not give homework. Now my teachers are threatining to hold me back because of my grades. Whats the point if I know everything for that class already. Won't I be taking up space in a class that can be used for another student that needs to take that class? But the school board does not think about that. They put to much on our grades. Since I just left Middle School, I just took the CRCT, and my test scores said my intellect is above average. I only missed 3 questions in the math portion. Thats the class they are threatining to hold me back in because of my homework. Weird isn't it. That is why I say we get to much Homework.
My children are in 4th and 6th grade. They are both doing homework from the time they get home at 3pm to 9pm, on average, sometimes until 10 or 11pm. Their only breaks are supper and evening shower. They have one extracurricular activity that consumes 2 hours / weekday (one hour of karate class). They get no t.v., games, play or family social time from Monday through Thursday. They get some on Fridays, but often still have catch-up work to do that bleeds over into the weekend. On top of the regularly scheduled homework load, there are long-term projects that require time, such as their current speeches and presentation projects. These are worked on during the weekend.
The stress in our family is tremendous. My 4th grader is going through a culture shock with the homework load tripling from 3rd to 4th grade. It is a constant battle to keep the children focused on their work. I hurt for them, watching them endure the tremendous workload and being helpless to ease the burden. I am a working professional (controller). My children's school demands far exceed anything required from my professional career. In short, these children work harder and longer than I do. Furthermore, they spend more time dedicated to their school curriculum than was required of me throughout college.
I AM IN 7TH GRADE AND THE TEACHERS GIVES US TO MUCH HOMEWORK.I UNDERSTAND THAT SCHOOL IS FOR LEARNING AND SOCIAL MATURITY BUT HOW ARE WE SURPOSE TO MEET PEOPLE OUTSIDE OF SCHOOL WHEN WE ARE DOING HOMEWORK.I LOVE SCHOOL MOST OF TH TIME BUT WHEN WE GET HOMEWORK OR PROJECTS IT'S HARD CAUSE WE ARE IN THE HOUSE.ALSO,WE HAVE TO GET OUT IN PLAY WE CAN'T BE A BUNCH OF COUCH POTATOS!!!!!!!
I myself, as an 8th grade student, I have way too much homework. I am also a football player. Too much homework is not easy for me. I have to cram homework into my schedule almost everyday. If I have alot of homework, I will have to stay up way too late just to get it done. After I get home from football practice, I eat supper take a shower and then do homework. After I am done it's time for me to go to sleep. I don't get to spend time with any of my family or friends in my neighborhood around where I live. I almost always have to do nothing but homework instead of watching Tv, playing video games, or getting on th computer. I think I speak for a lot of middle school and high school students when I say " We have way too much homework."
My school gives my class too much homework that its literally excruciating going through every night. One week I had 5 tests in a row!!!!!(NOT ERBS!!!!!!!) What the hell. The homework is going to drown me so help! You know what my dad does? HE HIRES 4 TUTORS A WEEK. WHAT THE HELL I DONT HAVE THE TIME!!!!!! Not to mention these out of school packets I have to do daily...
yea i really agree that homework should but cut out completely i am a senior and i really have alot of stress w/my job and thinkin about college and all and now i have to stres about whether or not im going to get my homework done so i acn get credit and wont fail therefore letting me graduate. It is jus way to stressful!!!!
We are too stressed out already for all of these stupid reports and homework assignments
I am a junior in high school, and I have a 4.0 GPA. I do believe that students are given too much homework. I attend a boarding school, and there are so many activities outside of school work that we are required to participate in that it is hard to find the time to complete homework. School is not just about "book-learning," it is about obtaining social maturity, and learning life lessons that are acquired outside of the classroom. For me as a Christian, school is also a place where I should be growing spiritually. Homework, when given in excess, is extremely stressful and hazardous to our health as students. We lose sleep, we are stressed (which as been proven to be detrimental), and we kill ourselves to get it done. I spend. on average, about hours a night on homework, and by the time I'm finished with my classes, choir, band, piano lessons, gymnastics, work, and class officer meetings, I'm tired and I need my sleep. I probably don't perform as well on my schoolwork because I am so tired. And it leaves almost no time for healthy socializing. I think that teachers should give homework, but not so much that we are extremely stressed over it and pressed for time to complete it. Teachers should put themselves in our place, and ask themselves whether or not the homework is too much to add to our busy schedules.
Also, everyone works at different paces. A worksheet that would take one student 30 min. might take another two hours to complete. Everyone learns differently, so teachers need to remember this when they select homework.
Kids have lives too.
and we don't want to spend all day at school,
then come home and study and work all night..
sometimes students study past there bedtime.
i barely see my parents on weeknights.
