Should laptops replace textbooks?

hey, yeah the money would cost the school lots but think laptops don't get woren out like books do. so instead of buying books every so years you would just have to but one laptop that would the student for a long time. and think when you are in high school and you miss a day it is like missing two days becuase the homework is soo much. well if your teachers just emailed you your assignments it would be like you were never gone.

Heylo i am 13 and in middle school my school is soo into being a green school but we are doing nothing. What better way to be a green school then to cut paper out entirely it would save money too. And my school already makes us log in with our user ID so they can track us they culd do the same thing on the laptops. Also, kids couldnt complain about "losing" paper because everything you have done would be with all the time.

i agree with you . i am a 12 year old and i am doing research on going green. i think laptops would be great for students in middle school and high school. the kids wouldnt need binders which can get messy and they wouldnt have to use so much paper. with that the students wouldnt lose homework or notes for class. can you please respond here to let me know on your personal opinion as well.

textbooks are so heavy and can really affect kids physically
also, if everyone is talking about going green so much, why not save paper and just get laptops
and make textbooks computerized

i think that school should change to laptops.Because i don't like going back to my locker for my books.On the laptop all your stuff would be on there so you would not need lockers.so i thank that we should have laptops.

Well yes im a senior in high school and this topic came up a lot when i didnt have a pen or paper but all in all ive thought for the past few years what if we had laptops true we would write faster and could cut down on paper and time and when we arent at school the teacher can send us our work or a video feed of class that day so u feel like ur there and actually learn but the one thing that i could see happening to me with my bad luck is getting a virus and it erasses everything imagine ur senior year in high school and u could be valditorian if u make a a on a paper u have spent ur entire highschool carrer on and bam it vanashes yea we arent quiet ready until there is a garentee that a computer cant get a virus

hi, i am writing a letter to my principle about why we should have laptops in school. Yes, i do beleave that schools should have laptops. But, others don't. well, the big question is money... where are the schools going to get money to buy each and everyone laptops? Yeah they might not like spending money on everyone but, what if they have a computer that is for kids in school well, they do! and its at a desent price and very well quality. If you would like to see it go to www.bestbuy.com and search mininote. also, what if there was at fee to pay 100$ for four months because the mininote is 400$. and what if there was a permision slip that a parent/gurdian had to sing and if their parent singed you didnt have to get on you could just go to your school computer lab and use those computers.

I believe that you do have a point and i think its true but i do think that could bring their own laptop to school to do recearch but then i think some of the assingments that they do would have to eventually be hand written

I agree laptops should be at school to replace text books because with laptops you can save money without buying paper and wating money, but it is sort of a waste of energy, unless you charge it at home and then take it to school.

Okay..I am writing a persuasive letter to the School Board of Eduacation..okay This has todo with resources that we use and waste. And if schools did have labtops we would save thousands of trees..sure we will use electicity! yeah but we have the Sun..and that produces enery also.. We wont waste the electricity. Its for a great cause. This would help many teachers out... so If you have anymore info that has both sides..I would be happy to know..cause she isnt cutting slack on this grade and I need a good grade to obtain my A average!
