LEED Gold Certified
St. Thomas School, in Medina, Washington just received the Gold certification from the LEED organization! I understand we are only the second school in the US to receive this honor! There are so many energy saving devices and processes in the school it would be impossible to list them all. On top of that, our sixth graders are working on a campaign to increase recycling in the school and get all students, from 3 years old to 12 aware of what we throw away each day. It is a wonderful, naturally lit place to work! I love the huge skylight in my room. I only turn on the lights on the darkest of days!
